Quetzal Therapeutics Appoints Todd Smith as Board Member

Quetzal Therapeutics has appointed Todd Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Corium, to our Board of Directors. He brings more than thirty years of experience across the pharmaceutical and medical device industries and has led major initiatives in commercialization, operations, and business development throughout his career.

Mr. Smith has raised more than one billion dollars in capital, led more than twenty five product launches, and executed more than one hundred business development and M&A transactions. His work reflects a consistent ability to guide organizations through growth, integration, and operational improvement.

His leadership background includes roles as Chief Executive Officer of Valinor, Iroko Pharmaceuticals, Zyla Life Sciences, and Assertio Therapeutics. He also held senior commercial and business-development positions at Horizon Therapeutics and Tolmar Pharma. He has founded or co-founded more than ten healthcare companies and serves on the boards of BVI Medical, ApolloCare, and Corium Therapeutics. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Norwich University.

Quetzal Therapeutics is developing targeted treatments for rare and life-threatening diseases, including hematologic malignancies. Our lead program, QTX-2101, is a new therapeutic paradigm for Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. Phase III clinical trials are planned to begin in late 2025. We are also advancing QTX-2102, a preclinical antifungal and antiparasitic therapy designed to improve efficacy while minimizing toxicity.
